Big City Living
Donald always tells me about the people that he worked with doing road construction last summer. They are crazy people who are always in and out of jail and stuff like that. But one thing thats real funny about all the people he saw, even the ones he didn't work with is that they all think SLC is a HUGE city!!! There are always horrible things going on in SLC. No one is safe there. We'd always kinda laugh about there small town mentality. Even though moving to Murray seemed kinda like going bigger city, I figured it was just because of the traffic and no space. But last friday evening or so there was all of a sudden a loud noice coming from upstairs so D and I went runnin up stairs making sure Gram was alright. She thought something hit a window or something like that. We went outside and looked around and decided that it was fireworks or something like that. So we didn't give it another thought. The next day there was an article in the paper about a police shooting basically two or three houses away from ours. Then at church the next sunday Gram found out that the neighbors house had a bullet from the shooting go into the house! The neighbors were shook up about how close it was to where the family usually hangs out. So Gram went out and looked again at her house. She found a bullet hole!! The bullet had managed to go between the neighbors houses, trees, and sheds and hit Grams house. The loud noise that sounded like something hitting the window was actually the bullet skimming against the window without breaking it then going through the window seal into the brick. The scariest thing is that Gram was sitting on the couch no more than 10 feet away from where the bullet hit. And right after the bullet hit we went outside to see what was going on. We were a bit suprised! Guess this is the big city!
