St. George Marathon

On our way down to the St. George Marathon, we had a blow out.

My back tire exploded at mile marker 89, right next to a cow factory (I don't know if it was for beef or milk), and a pile of used tires! (How random?!)

Of course the spare was a tiny 'do not exceed some ridiculously low speed' kind of tire.

Just this last Wednesday, D and I had said how glad we were that the Marathon wasn't for another week, and not this upcoming weekend. We both needed to spend the weekend studying for tests.

But, when I called Jo to see if we could crash at their place, she let us know that it was, actually, this next weekend ... like in 2 days!

So, we were super psych'd (!!!!) to be sitting on the side of the road, getting blown away by the semi's and cow crap as we changed the tire to a donut.

Luckily I was able to use my phones navigation to get us to St. George on back roads. Although D would have been much happier just turning around.

Saturday morning we figured out the tire situation. Every single tire place in the southern hemisphere of Utah, that would take my warrantly, was closed on Saturday and Sunday!!! The whole situation was an ordeal and we weren't too happy about any of it.

But, Saturday afternoon made it all worth it. D's family came over to Sargents and we swam and BBQ'd (THANK YOU JO and TROY!).
